November 2023 Update

Update from November 2023

You could claim to have achieved many things in life, like finishing dozens of 100-mile races, participating in prestigious events that are hard to get in, crazy or tough ultramarathons, or being one of the few who has done this or that. You could claim that and many more, but none of this is worth it if you don’t plant the seeds to inspire others to achieve, or help the community where you came from!

This time, I'm presenting an album that commemorate the eleven anniversary of this program, The Shoes for Runners. A program that is possible thanks to the help of the US running community, and the support of friends, gyms, and clubs.

All these donations have been distributed among the less privileged runners in Mexico and a few other countries, and keep growing!! This small program is a success thanks to the help of local authorities, coaches, and friends who help us to keep the youth away from trouble. Then, select the talented, to polish them to change their lives, and be competitive in a healthy environment. Yes, to chase their dreams, trying to make a better world when nobody sees it!

This program is doing so great that now, thanks to the support of a few friends we have a house where we gathered a select group of talented kids, low-income athletes who can run a 30-minute 10k, sub 1:10 half marathon and sub 2:30 marathon distance, and coach them to be competitive, providing them the necessary gear, the food and coaching to achieve!

Many of them have dreams and thanks to the help and support of everyone it will get bigger and better. I’d like to express my gratitude to everyone who never leave me alone on this program, and always are aware about the progress, Chihping Fu, Monica Morant, Paul King Anytime Fitness, Quicksilver running club, etc!! Who have donated shoes, shirts, backpacks, jackets, shorts, new and used, in other worlds running related gear!

Another year is almost over, and this program keeps shinning!! Thanks so mucho to everyone who help me to get the job well done!
